Fort Bragg Opens New Commissary on South Side of Post

— Veterans and soldiers in Fayetteville have a new place to shop now that Fort Bragg has opened its new South Post Commissary.

The commissary is located on the south side of the post, in an area where a lot of soldiers live.

The superstore is the largest shopping facility in the defense system.

Fort Bragg's Commissary on the north side of post has had record-breaking sales. The new, larger commissary is expected to do even better.

"It demonstrates a true commitment on the part of the army leadership to offer families, soldiers, and retirees in the greater Fayetteville area a top of the line, world-class level commissary shopping opportunity," said Garrison Commander Col. Tad Davis.

Leaders hope to offer a one-stop shopping environment, with the August opening of a shopping mall and exchange near the new commissary.
