OXFORD, N.C. — Authorities are seeking the public's help to identify a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a construction worker Wednesday afternoon.

Richard Williamson, who works for Ellington Landscaping, was directing traffic on N.C. Tony Gibson of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Williamson was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with head trauma.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Highway Patrol's Durham office at 919-560-6868.
