GOLDSBORO — A man faces a laundry list of charges this afternoon after leading authorities on a chase on icy roads not once, but twice.
Highway Patrolofficers say they stopped Johnny Ray Phillips in his van early Monday morning with stop sticks. Deputies say the handcuffed suspect then stole a Wayne County sheriff's patrol car and led them on a second chase down U.S. 70.
Deputies say the chase ended when Phillips jumped out of the car and ran into the woods. Officers later arrested him at his home.
He faces a number of charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle.
No one was injured in the chase.
