MORRISVILLE, NC — MegaFon, one of Russia's largest mobile network providers, has signed a deal with
Tekelec
to utilize its Eagle 5 signaling platform.
Tekelec described the deal as a "multi-million dollar" contract.
MegaFon has some 22 million customers across 78 regions of Russia.
The Eagle 5 will help MegaFon handle increasing voice and short message service traffic as well as support the future rollout of Internet Protocol multimedia applications.
