Halifax Community College Names Interim President

Posted Updated

WELDON, N.C. — WELDON, N.C. -- Halifax Community College has a new president, for now.

The college's Board of Trustees Tuesday named Harold Mitchell as interim president until a permanent replacement can be found.

Mitchell retired as president of Roanoke Chowan Community College after 13 years.

Mitchell replaces former college president Ted Gasper, who was fired last month after an investigation into allegations of mismanagement and misconduct. Gasper plans to sue the college.
