Fayetteville residents who live near a proposed jail site have armed themselves with picket signs.
More than 20 people protested outside the courthouse in downtown Fayetteville Thursday. They say they're fighting the site chosen for a new jail in their neighborhood.
Last week, county commissioners voted to buy 70 acres of land off Crystal Springs and Camden Roads, but some county leaders say the deal has not yet been finalized
