Police in Fayetteville sped through city streets in pursuit of a kidnapping suspect Friday morning.

Authorities say 35-year-old Sylvia Masters kidnapped her 3-year-old son from the Department of Social Services and led Cumberland County deputies on a chase before running into a patrol car.

Traffic was backed up for miles on Ramsey Street at the time of the pursuit.

DSS representatives took the little boy back to their offices and the Masters was arrested.

There is no word yet on what charges she faces
