The Food Bank of North Carolina is looking for donations for victims of Hurricane Bertha.

The non-profit organization has a particular need for donations to help New Bern's bank rebuild its food supply. Extended power outages there have sent residents scrambling to food pantries and soup kitchens.

The Food Bank on Beryl Road near the fairgrounds is open for donations Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
