FAYETTEVILLE — July 15, 1996 - 7:20 p.m. EDT

A trip to a swimming hold turned deadly for a Harnett County boy Monday afternoon.

Five-year-old Josh Sessoms had gone swimming with his two brothers and his mother when he slipped on an embankment and fell into the upper Little River. His father was on the other side of the river at the time. He jumped in and swam across to find out what happened.

A Cumberland County dive team found the boy's body about 100 feet downstream
