RALEIGH — July 9, 1996 - 12:55 p.m. EDT
You might have to part with some money to help pay for a big clean-up operation in West Raleigh.
The Environmental Protection Agency wants to clean-up a hazardous waste site known as Lot-86 located between Carter Finley Stadium and the Wade Avenue Extension.
Investigators say pesticides, solvent and animal carcasses that were exposed to low-level radiation were buried there in the 1970's. The EPA says the effort could cost taxpayers $3 million
