DURHAM — July 8, 1996 - 1:01 p.m. EDT
A teen who fatally beat an elderly woman four years ago has paid his legal debt to society and is set to be released from his training school.
The 14-year-old who admitted to killing 90-year-old Mary Haddon will turn 18 soon. The law requires that, since he committed the crime as a juvenile, he must be released when he turns 18.
Neighbors who remember Mary Haddon are worried about the teen's pending release. Since Haddon's death, a neighborhood watch has been formed and many say they've grown closer to each other.
Upon his release, the teen will have a clean criminal record
