Some State Employees May Be Out of Work

Nearly 1,000 state employees could be without jobs Monday.

That's the word from the state budget officer who announced Wednesday that payroll money to cover up to 600 employees will run out Sunday. An additional 400 employees of non-profit agencies paid with state funds could also be idled.
