CARY — June 25, 1996 - 12:04 p.m. EDT
Storms were widely scattered throughout the Triangle Monday night, and some were violent. One storm produced lightning that struck the roof of a house on Fetzer Court in Cary.
Firefighters say the fire started in the attic and spread quickly. The entire second floor of the house was nearly destroyed.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
In southern Harnett County, lightning struck a barn causing a fire that burned it to the ground
