Police Suspect Oakwood Woman Victim of Homicide

RALEIGH — June 14, 1996 - 5:45 a.m. EDT

The woman whose body was dumped Thursday afternoon in Raleigh's Oakwood cemetery has been identified as a resident of Oakwood Avenue.

A cemetery worker found the body of Patricia Gwendolyn Woods, 38, just after 3 p.m.

Police still have not revealed the cause of death, but do say they suspect the woman was murdered. They hope to know more after an autopsy, scheduled for Friday morning.
