RALEIGH — A Web site that offers lots of free information by e-mail may sound pretty amazing. However, what they are doing to promoteEmazing.comis really big.

The 25-city promotional tour brought a 28-foot red Humvee stretch limousine to the Triangle for a five-day stay. It promotes the Web site, which offers everything from jokes to business information.

Online visitors can sign up for the free service, check the content that interests them and get it by e-mail.

"As our slogan says, whatever you're into, we e-mail it to you for free," says promotion coordinator Jennifer Cleary. "We've got about 80 different points of interest on this Web site, so when I say there's something for everyone, there really is."

The Emazing Humvee will make several appearances in the Triangle. It will be at the Carolina Mudcats game Friday night and the Durham Bulls game on Saturday.

The Emazing Web site will most likely attract both men and women. According to recent studies, more women are hitting the Internet. Women Outnumber Men As Web SurfersMedia Metrix and Jupiter Communications say women and girls make up 50.4 percent of the total U.S. Web audience, and the numbers are steadily growing.

Teen-age girls are really burning up the Web. However, among women ages 18 to 24, Web use has actually dropped.
