What could have been a tragedy  turned out to be an inconvenience for 98 residents of a Cary retirement  center Friday night.  A fire broke out, but everyone left the building  safely.

The owner of Parkway Retirement Center on West High Street credited  the building's sprinkler system and the company's sound escape plan with  enabling everyone to exit safely.
