DMV Commissioner Position May Be Out

If the North Carolina Joint Legislative Committee has its way the post of DMV Commissioner will be a thing of the past.

That recommendation comes after an audit of the DMV that led to the resignation of Commissioner Alexander Killens.

The audit says Killens used employees to drive for him and run personal errands during his tenure with the DMV. Killens stepped down last week, but denies the allegations.

The audit says the commissioner's position is unnecessary
