Police Question Two Men About Bank Robbery, Shooting

FAYETTEVILLE — February 14 1996, 9:55 a.m. EST

Police have taken two men into custody for questioning about Monday's attempted robbery and shooting at Triangle Bank.

Teller Allison Logan, 26, is in satisfactory condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was wounded in her arm and leg. One of the robbers shot her, apparently when they believed she was pressing a silent alarm button.

The men being held by police have not been charged.

After Logan was shot, the robbers fled on foot in a wooded area behind the bank. A search by law officers and search dogs turned up nothing.

Because of the stockings they wore over their faces, description is sketchy, but witnesses said the men were white or Hispanic and about 6-feet tall. One wore an oversized flannel shirt and blue jeans; the other wore a coat.

Triangle Bank is at 991 S. McPherson Church Road. Until about three months ago, the bank was known as Triangle East Bank.
