RALEIGH — TheCarolina Cobrasdefeated the New England Sea Wolves 44-39 Thursday night in an AFL exhibition game.

"I don't think there are words that describe this football game or the excitement that can come out of the football game until you've sat in the chairs out there and feel the excitement," says Cobras head coach Doug Kay.

The Arena Football League has been seen as a springboard to the NFL.

"A lot of people look at it like a farm league for the NFL, and to get more experience of the game's speed and getting used to the physical aspect of the game," says former ECU player Mitchell Galloway.

"One of the things that we try to avoid is the wall," says Cornelius White, Cobras wide receiver and defensive back. "That's just like getting hit twice; getting hit by the player and getting hit by the wall."

The Carolina Cobras open the regular season at the ESA April 14 against the Florida Bobcats.
