CLINTON, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation will continue to keep all lanes of U.S. 421/701 South in Clinton closed until Feb. 10 to complete repairs to the Indian Town Road bridge.
The bridge was closed earlier this month due to damaged girders. Crews have discovered additional damage to the bridge structure and are working to reopen the road as soon as possible.
Motorists should expect heavy delays and proceed with caution through this area. During the closure, motorists traveling south on U.S. 421/701 will take U.S. 421/701 South to N.C. 24 East to U.S. 701 Business South through town and then back to U.S. 421/701 South.
