Police Hope New Photo Produces Leads in Store Burglaries
Raleigh police hope a new, high-quality surveillance photo will help generate leads in a burglary case involving a North Raleigh Alltel store.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police hope a new, high-quality surveillance photo will help generate leads in a burglary case involving a North Raleigh Alltel store.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on May 8, police said, two men broke into the store at 4412 Falls of Neuse Road and stole about $1,000 worth of cellular phones.
Surveillance photos from the Raleigh Alltel store show one man wearing a brown baseball cap, blue jeans and a shirt that appears to have pink or purple stripes. The second man is wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans and a dark-colored baseball cap.
The new photo, recently obtained by the Knightdale Police Department, shows two men buying large trashcans that appear to be identical to those police said used in the phone store burglaries.
Similar crimes also have been reported in Cary, Knightdale, Clayton and Fayetteville. In several of those cases, the assailants had known similarities in appearance and clothing, including the distinctive shirt with horizontal stripes in the new photo.
Anyone with information that might assist investigators should contact the Raleigh Police Department at 919-890-3555, Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME, or police in Cary, Clayton, Knightdale or Fayetteville.
