'Canes Lose On the Road

NEW YORK — The Carolina Hurricanes lost to the New York Islanders 2-0 Friday night.

The games was the 'Canes' chance to go 4-2 on this six-game road trip. In the first period, the Islanders were on the attack. A shot deflected off of Paul Kruse gave New York an early lead.

In the second period, Rob Reickal's rebound went past Carolina's Trevor Kidd. It was the final goal in the game.

Carolina now falls to eight games under 500.
