Seattle Police Recruiters Lure Away Raleigh Officers

RALEIGH — Seattle police recruiters hope the lure of more money will attract Raleigh officers to their city.

Just starting out,Raleigh police officersmake just under $28,000 a year. That's 10,000lessthan what they could make if they moved to Seattle.

Recruiters are coming to town in October to test Raleigh officers with at least two years experience. The Fayetteville Police Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff's office are also losing officers to higher paying jobs.

Some of those officers are working for the government in Kosovo making $100,000 a yeartax free.
