Auditor Finds Problems In Butner's Water, Sewer Operations

BUTNER, N.C. — The state has identified some potential problem areas in how the town of Butner's water and sewer system operates.

A

report

issued by the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor, found deficiencies in how finances were reported, specifically with bank statements.

The audit also showed that regulations, contracts and grants did not comply with state laws.

The auditor's suggestions to fix some of the problems included better training.
