CARY — Mandatory watering restrictions take effect Monday in Cary, Morrisville, and the Wake County portion of RTP.
Under the law, residents with odd-numbered addresses can water their lawns on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Residents with even-numbered addresses can water lawns on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
No one is allowed to water lawns on Mondays.
Homeowners trying to establish a new lawn can request special permits.
Everyone affected by the new ordinance should have received postcards in the mail.
