ORANGE COUNTY — Department of Transportation workers discovered a woman's body near the split of Interstates 40 and 85 in Orange County Wednesday.
The body was found in an embankment near the eastbound lane of I-40 at mile marker 260. Authorities say it had been there for at least six days.
There was no identification either on or near the body.
Authorities say the brown-haired woman was between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 and weighed 120 pounds. Authorities also say she was between 20 and 30 years of age.
