<b>RALEIGH</b> — Raleigh's second largest hospital is scheduling elective surgeries again.

Rex Hospitalcancelled elective surgeriesover the weekend, after a request from four high-ranking doctors.

The doctors cited a flood of flu cases and a nursing shortage.

Rex spokesperson Brooke Stickney says  100 surgeries were scheduled for Monday, most of them elective. She says  doctors performed 14 unscheduled surgeries over the weekend.
