HARNETT COUNTY — State troopers say rainy weather may have caused a deadly three-car pileup in Harnett County.

Air Force Master Sgt. James Marcum of Lillington was driving his 1969 Volkswagen station wagon on Overhills Road when he drove into the path of a car driven by Pamela Key of Spring Lake, which was going southbound on Highway 210.

Three people in another car were injured in the accident.

All of the victims were rushed to Womack Army Medical Center. Key suffered a broken wrist, and Marcum later died at the hospital.
