RALEIGH — The rain from Hurricane Irene was enough to shut down the North Carolina State Fair. The fairgrounds closed at 9:45 Sunday due to the weather.
Most fairgoers made the best of the day. They did everything they could to stay dry. Of course an umbrella was a staple around the grounds.
Rides that were usually bustling with activity stood still, while others swung into action with rain soaked fairgoers.
State Fair officials say, the faigrounds will re-open Monday morning at 9.a.m.
. The festivities run through Sunday October 24th.
