Raleigh, N.C. — Parents in the Wakefield subdivision of Raleigh are on alert after several reports of children being approached by strangers.
Raleigh police said a suspicious white car with two males inside approached two 12-year-old boys on Raven Drive Wednesday. The children ran when the car's occupants opened the door.
"We saw the passenger-side door open and saw somebody get out," said one of the children, James Egitto."So, we ran around (a) little circle so they didn't know what house we lived in."
This was the fourth incident involving children being approached in the area within the past month, but police are not sure if they are connected.
Authorities also received a similar report last week from a woman who was jogging on Wakefield Pines Drive when a man in an older model red or burgundy car pulled up to her and stopped nearby even when there was no traffic.
Anyone with information about any of the attacks should contact Raleigh police at 919-890-3555.
