NC to Fight Mosquitoes

RALEIGH — North Carolina is about to launch an aerial attack on mosquitoes.

Planes are expected to begin spraying pesticide Monday to control the mosquito population. All the standing water from Floyd's flooding could create a huge problem with the biting bugs.

Local health departments have already begun to attack the problem.

The state's spraying effort will cover cover 3 million acres and could cost the state up to $1 million.
