DURHAM — The northbound lane of the Durham Freeway has been reopened, after an early morning wreck was removed from the highway.

Police say around 6:15 a.m, the driver of a red pickup truck was heading southbound not far from the Wake County line. They say he lost control and crossed over into the northbound lane. His truck then flipped, and he was thrown from the vehicle.

Police say he was run over by two cars, both of which kept on driving.

Both of those occurrences have been designated "hit and runs."

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The Durham Freeway is also known as Highway 147.
