All Quiet, So Far: No Murders in Raleigh This Year

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Raleigh police hope they can keep a good thing going. So far, there have been no murders this year.

By this time last year, Raleigh already had eight murders. In 1994, 12 people were murdered in the first quarter.

1990 was the last time no murders were committed in the first three months of the year.

The police department is not reading too much into the good news, because the murder rates fluctuate so much.
