RALEIGH — The state Senate has given the green light for traffic cameras in Cary, Raleigh and Durham.
Drivers photographed running red lights would be mailed a ticket from a private company. The car's owner also would receive a photo of the violation.
Thirteen cities and towns, including Fayetteville, already have permission to use the cameras.
