Friday is now a WRAL Weather Alert Day. Parts of Hoke, Cumberland and Sampson counties are under a level 2 risk for storms Friday afternoon and evening. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<b>RALEIGH</b> — TheAmerican Turkish Associationof North Carolina will be collecting money and other necessities for people  devastated by the earthquake in Turkey.

You can donate  clothing, blankets and canned food this weekend at local grocery stores.

Donations are being collected at Wellspring Grocery stores in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill on Saturday.
