CARY — People all over the country took time to pay special tribute today to the men and women who laid down their lives in battle.
In Cary, the Memorial Day observance focused on educating children about the people who sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom.
Rep. David Price says the issue carries even more weight now that we're involved in the conflict in Kosovo.
"Of course the world is still a dangerous place," Price said. "There are still those who would snuff out freedom and so we do want to remember our service people in Kosovo, people who are in harm's way."
The American Legion plans to get more young people involved in the ceremonies next year.
