Police say a streaker walked out from behind a bush
RALEIGH — Police are warning the public that with the weather warming up, peepers and streakers are on the prowl.

On Tuesday morning, park police responded to a call for help at Lake Lynn in North Raleigh. A woman walking on a path said that a naked man was hiding in the bushes.

"He stepped out from behind some bushes," said Police Sgt. Brenda Elmore. "She was very startled, and she said he was just as startled as she was. And he turned around and ran away when she looked at him."

Police do not have a good description of the streaker.

Incidents like this one have been on the rise. In Cary, police are trying to catch a "Peeping Tom."

Six residents who live in neighborhoods near Cary Parkway report seeing a man peeking in their windows between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Police suggest that anyone who encounters a peeper or streaker should call911.
