SMITHFIELD — Sheriff's deputies in Johnston county are working to get drugs out of area neighborhoods.
After a string of resident complaints, deputies set up four checkpoints across the county Saturday night.
Their main focus was narcotics.
They brought out drug-sniffing dogs to search cars.
Three drivers were charged with marijuana possession; another three were caught for drunk driving.
A pistol was also recovered.
Johnston County's sheriff says people can expect more of these drug checkpoints in the future.
