Holocaust Memorial Service Held in Raleigh

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — As part of the annual nationwide Days of Remembrance of the Holocaust, a memorial service is being held in Raleigh Sunday afternoon.

The North Raleigh Hilton is the site of the service, which is sponsored by the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust.

Speaker is Dr. David S. Wyman, a Christian scholar of the Holocaust. Prior to his retirement, he was professor of American History and Judaic Studies at the University of Massachusetts.

The service is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The general public is invited; no reservations are necessary.

The Day of Remembrance is designated each year by the U.S. Congress to remember the victims of the Holocaust and to remind Americans of the ultimate dangers of hatred, prejudice and government-sponsored discrimination.
