Wake Tech, State Troopers Offer Child Safety Seat Training Classes

RALEIGH — If you have a child safety seat in your car, have you checked it lately to make sure it is installed properly?

A seat belt strap may have accidentally loosened, and you may not have noticed it. It could also be installed wrong.

That is why theN.C. Highway PatrolandWake Technical Community Collegeare teaming up to offer child safety seat training classes.

"In 1997, we had 59 children killed in this state. Children are the most precious cargo that we'll ever put in a vehicle to transport on a highway, so it's very important that we do everything to ensure our children are safe when we have them out traveling," said State Trooper Wade Bulloch.

Those classes are scheduled for Feb. 16-17, and April 20-21.
