Raleigh Accident Kills Two, Injures Five

RALEIGH — Black ice may be to blame for a Saturday night car accident that killed two people and injured five in Raleigh.

It happened around 10 p.m. on Tryon Road, just east of Lake Wheeler Road.

Police say that a car and a pick-up truck collided head-on. The truck flipped over, and the car was badly mangled.

Jamonte Shaw, 18, of Garner, and Margaret Holzschuh, from New York, were killed. Of the five people who were injured, two were described as having very serious injuries, and one was a child. They were taken to WakeMed.
