Tar Heel Liquor Sales Drop

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Liquor sales are dropping in the Tar Heel State.

The latest figures from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control board show North Carolinians bought 34 million bottles of liquor during the year ending June 30th.

That's considerably fewer than the 40 million bottles bought 10 years ago.

The decline comes despite an increase of one million people in the state's population.
