FAA to Probe Parkton Crash

Posted Updated

PARKTON — The pilot of an experimental plane was not injured after a hard emergency landing Saturday afternoon in Robeson County.

The pilot brought the plane back down, nonetheless the landing was hard enough to flip the craft over.

Max Adams, 51, of Angier landed his 1973 Aerosport at a private airstrip about one mile west of Parkton, off Malloy Road.

Adams said he had engine trouble when he was about 50 feet in the air.

The FAA was notified, and they'll begin their investigation on Monday.
