RALEIGH — Community and religious leaders are gearing up for the North Carolina Black Family Rally.
Organizers met in Raleigh Saturday to plan the huge event. They're trying to open a dialog among African- Americans to try to solve problems within their communities.
"We need to try to have some mechanism to get folks to think, talk and act from a community standpoint," said Bill Martin, a member of the NC Black Caucus.
The Black Family Rally will take place Oct. 10 at the Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh.
It will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
