— One local Republican is trying to take advantage of the presidential problems in a political ad.

Republican congressional candidate Dan Page has taken to the airwaves, connecting President Clinton to Page's opponent, Democrat incumbent Bob Etheridge. Page says Etheridge should have called on the president to come clean.

(dan page) bob etheridge should have been out there from day one asking that bill clinton tell the truth yet he's chosen to remain silent. (bob etheridge) the president has stood up now. He's told the truth he's said he has. He's talked to the grand jury. He's spoken to the American people. What else can you ask?

Etheridge won his first term two years ago, in a district carried by Clinton's opponent, Bob Dole.
