Several Post Offices Offer Late Hours for Procrastinators

The U.S. Postal Service will offer late or extended hours at 16 postal locations in central North Carolina Tuesday to accommodate customers mailing tax returns.

The U.S. Postal Service will offer late or extended hours at 16 postal locations in central North Carolina Tuesday to accommodate customers mailing tax returns.

The following Post Offices will offer retail and window services to customers until 8 p.m. and accept mail from customers until midnight, except where noted:

Asheboro, 1030 S. Church St.
Burlington, 405 Maple Ave.
Cary, 150 Wrenn St.
Chapel Hill, 125 S. Estes St.
Durham, 323 E. Chapel Hill St. and  3710 Shannon Road (The Shannon Road location is open until 8 p.m. only.)
Greensboro, 201 N. Murrow Blvd., Four Seasons Mall and Piedmont International Airport (The mall and airport locations are open until 9 p.m. only.)
Hickory, 231 Government Ave. SW
High Point, 315 E. Green St.
Lexington, 110 N. State St.
Raleigh, 1 Floretta Place
Rocky Mount, 201 S. George St.
Winston-Salem, 3320 Silas Creek Pkwy. - Hanes Mall and 7840 North Point Blvd. (The Hanes Mall location is open until 9 p.m. only.)

No consultants from the Internal Revenue Service or the state Department of Revenue will be available at any location.

The Postal Service also offers Automated Postal Centers at 19 sites across the region for customers who need a dated postmark for their mail after normal business hours. All APCs are accessible to customers 24 hours a day.
