ROCKY MOUNT — Three Rocky Mount police officers facing theft charges are out of a job.

The three were arrested July 1 after a tip led the department to investigate their activities. Officers Ray Dunston, Michael Browder and Daniel Scott were fired Thursday after failing to meet their deadlines for appeal.

Sgt. James Brown was also charged, but he appealed his suspension. He is still employed with the department. Four other officers who were suspended the next day do not face a similar deadline.
