DURHAM — A Durham County deputy is nursing a broken ankle and his department is short one car after a chase and wreck Monday.
The sheriff's department says two suspects driving a stolen car side-swiped parked cruiser. During a chase the injured deputy crashed into the stolen car, breaking his ankle.
The two suspects fled. K-9 units searched a wooded area off Old Oxford Highway, but the suspects are still on the loose.
