Woman Charged in Husband's Death

Posted Updated

LUMBERTON — In a bizarre twist, a 41-year-old Lumberton woman faces murder charges for the death of her 19-year-old husband.

Sylvia Borralles was originally charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the shooting death of her husband, Otto.

Her friend, 19-year-old Barry Robinson, was originally charged with her husband's murder. Now both the widow and Robinson face murder charges.

Investigators think Robinson knocked on the couple's door and, when Otto Borralles opened it, Robinson shot him.

The Borralles had married in April and separated two weeks later.

Sylvia Borralles and Robinson are being held in Robeson County Detention Center without bail.
