Durham Mail Carrier Injured

DURHAM — A mail carrier was beaten up and stabbed in Durham Saturday afternoon.

Police said Oatha Upchurch was delivering mail along his rounds. He told investigators that four men broke the glass in the back of his truck and then attacked him.

The attack occurred on Stokes Street.

Upchurch was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police say they have a suspect but have not identified the person.
